Facts & Figures

Our attendance on 6/1/2025:  in person 9:00 = 166 + 10:45 = 73 + Kids Ministry = 52 + online/YouTube/app = 58 = 349 total.  Offering (weekly need: $14,127.) for 6/1/2025 was $14,881.   Our fiscal year runs October--September.   God always keeps His promises.  Let's give back generously to God through His church so we can continue to bless others.

Culver's Night

Our local Culver's has assigned JeffStreet as the fundraising team for the first Monday of each month.  In 2024 we earned more than $4,700!  If you would be interested in helping, please give the Office a call or see Susan Tibbs.  The hours for serving are 5:00--6:30 and 6:30--8:00.  The "job" involves running bags out to the cars in the drive-through line, taking trays of food to in-house diners, and wiping off tables between guests.
The funds we earned helped to cover the cost of replacing the flooring in our Kitchen, Fellowship Hall, and then into the Children's check-in area!  It looks great!  Now a "Roof Replacement" fund has been established to take care of the large, aging roof on our building, hopefully in another year or so.  We're aiming to have the Culver's earnings (as of June 2024) go toward that upcoming expense.  We missed January because of inclement weather.  Our February check was a good one!--$536.  Thank you JeffStreet workers and all you eaters too!  We were at it again on March 3--and received a check for $540. The April check came in at $489.  May's check should arrive any day now--and it did on the 30th!  $611.--our best one yet!!

Mether (pronounced mE' ther)

Mether is a moms' group inviting women in any stage of parenting to join them.  During the school year they typically do a book study.  Child care is provided.  Beginning June 2025 the moms will meet on the second and fourth Sundays during second service (10:45-12:00), in Rm 113.  If the former schedule did not work for you, try this new day/time/location!  Moms, mark June 8, 10:45 and June 22 for the same time and location.

Valet Parking

JeffStreet, did you know we have valet parking for both services?  If traversing the parking lot seems a bit treacherous, just pull up under the overhang and Lenny Remmert or Gary McCree will be happy to park your car for you.  Wait in the Lobby for a minute or two and they will return your keys to you promptly.

Mission to Poland

A group of seven JeffStreeters are planning to go to Poland May 30--June 10 to work with our missionaries there: Dave & Sandy Hatfield.  They will be doing some construction-type work for the mission:  building a cabin and refurbishing an old hotel they have purchased.  Jan Barczuk, with Pioneer Bible Translators (and formerly of Lincoln), plans to be in Poland with the Hatfields for at least part of that time.

NO FEAR! (Men's Ministry)

This men's group meets at 6pm on the first Thursday of each month in The Well. High school guys on up are encouraged to attend.  In months that have 5 Thursdays, the guys will meet weekly for a Better Man study.   July 3,10,17,24, 31 is next.

1-for-One

The receptacle in the back of the Worship Center is for dropping in a dollar each week. At the end of the month that money is collected and given to someone in the community who needs a helping hand.
If you know of a non-JeffStreeter who could truly benefit, please fill out the online nomination form (under the GIVE button on our website).  Most recipients receive in the neighborhood of $500-$600.

Volunteer Opportunities!

  • Are you looking for a place to serve?  Have an hour or so free on Sunday afternoons?  How about joining (or re-joining) the much-appreciated Homebound Team who visit, pray, and serve communion to several nursing home residents and shut-ins.  Kudos to Alice Doehring for overseeing this program!
  • How about serving with the Sunday morning Donut/Coffee Team?  Kelly Cale would love a couple more friendly folks to make coffee and serve donuts once a month for an hour or so.
  • Another Sunday morning opportunity is communion prep.  The trays are already prepared by a wonderful weekly servant, but we need a few more volunteers to put them in place before the service, refill before the next, and pick up after.  Susan Shew would love to show you the plan.
  • Kids Ministry.  Minda Abeln, our Children's Minister, has just the spot for you, at 9:00 or 10:45.
  • Know your way around some simple construction sites?  The HammerHeads team can always use a few more hands to help with ramp building, fence building, painting, and other small projects. (No electrical, plumbing, or roofing jobs.)
  • Many hands make light work.  Please consider donating a little of your time.  Studies show that often 20% of the members do 80% of the work;  JeffStreet--let's blow those statistics to smithereens!

Food Pantry

The JeffStreet Food Pantry is a busy place.  Besides our gracious drivers (using their own vehicles and gasoline) delivering food boxes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, we have wonderful volunteers who clean the building, refrigerators, restroom, etc., help sort and shelve the inventory, pack generous food boxes, and visit and pray with the pantry recipients.  Sack Sunday is a regular opportunity (always the last Sunday of the month) for you to donate non-perishable items to the Pantry.  Monetary donations help cover the cost to purchase fresh items like milk, cheese, eggs, meat, veggies, and fruits.  Inflation is hurting everyone; thank you for your sacrificial giving  JeffStreet!  The number of calls the Pantry receives has jumped tremendously.  Ph # 217.828.2649

Prayer Requests

Published requests will be sent out to the JeffStreet email prayer list.  (Must have subject's permission.)  The prayer request cards are sent via email to the Elders and the staff prays over these requests at Monday morning staff meetings and the Monday night Prayer Team  prays over them each week at 6pm.  You are welcome and encouraged to join the Prayer Team in Rm 113*  For requests/praises please fill out our prayer request form HERE.
Confidential requests are prayed over by the Elders and/or staff.  *Rm 113 is behind the Children's check-in area.  It has been completely re-purposed and re-decorated into a lovely Prayer/Meeting Room.  Be sure to take a peek.

Located near Clinton:  7539 Little Galilee Road.  Lots of activities are available:  high ropes course, swimming pool, zip lining across the pond, and giant swing (all supervised by trained personnel).  There is a nurse on duty, a Canteen with snacks and camp merch for sale.  The camp's mission is to create environments so people of every generation can come and take intentional steps toward Jesus.  During Autumn, Winter, and Spring the camp has a plethora of rental opportunities for churches, colleges, civic organizations, families, etc.  The schedule fills up quickly--plan ahead. There are several posters in the Fellowship Hall promoting a number of events coming up this Spring and Summer--check them out.  Registration is open!  The theme is "Chosen--the gospel changes everything!".

Kids Ministry

JeffStreet offers children's classes from Grade 8 down to Nursery care at the 9:00 service.  Be sure to let our volunteers know how much they are appreciated!  It takes about 2 dozen kid-lovin' folks to staff each service.

Of course you are welcome to have your child/ren with you in the Worship Service.  Should they become restless/wiggly/noisy, please feel free to go to the Nursing Room at the back of the Worship Center where you will be able to see and hear the service behind the glass.  And your little one/s will be able to move about freely.
Parents, have you checked out the Little Galilee camp schedule?  Registration is open!  Their goal was to have 500 registered on opening day (that's one hundred more than last year's first day).  They smashed the record by another 100 = 600! campers intend to descend on Little Galilee this Summer, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.  Registration continues to be open.
